Vic picks Dananananaykroyd as the highlight of the many Scottish gigs around the world this week. The ‘Naykroyds are visiting Australia right now for the first time and will be in Sydney on Wednesday and Melbourne on Thursday night. According to Vic they may well be the best live band on the planet right now.

With the silliest band name in history, but don’t let that put you off, Glasgow’s 6-headed indie-punk-rock behemoth are out on the streets and untamed! I’d go on record as saying they’re one of, if not, the best live bands on the planet right now.

They prove it on every occasion, be it in small bar-venues, bigger halls or arenas with the wildest onstage moves and capers you’re ever likely to see. Their 2 drummers, 2 singers, 2 guitarists and splatter-gun musical approach incorporates the influences of Fugazi, Sonic Youth and Los Campesinos! into a frantic, out-of-control mash-up of noise and melody.

The band’s debut LP ‘Hey Everyone’ is out now and worth investigating, but try and see them live for the best night out you’ve had in years!
