- How Scotland Can Still Qualify For The 2014 World Cup Virtually everyone has already written off Scotland’s chances of making the next World Cup. But as I watched us crush Estonia last night I started to wonder what needs to happen for us to make it. I know this is crazy but after crunching the numbers I think we can actually do it. Here’s how:
- Scotland’s 2014 World Cup Draw The draw for the 2014 World Cup qualifying groups will take place later tonight in Rio. Scotland are in pot 4 which means we could be in a Club Med group with Greece, Turkey and Israel or a Club Dread group with Spain, France and Ukraine. Details below.
- Going Bananas The Tartan Army are still the world’s fluffiest football fans, thanks to the Sun newspaper. The blowhard tabloid rag proudly declared itself the saviour of the Tartan Army after it produced a photograph showing the banana thrown on to the pitch after Brazil’s second goal came from an area populated by Brazil fans.
- My Hero If anyone ever asked me who my hero is, I would answer: Tank Man. He is the anonymous person who stood in front of a column of Chinese Army tanks on Beijing’s Chang’an Avenue on June 5, 1989 – the morning after the massacre of students in Tiananmen Square. No-one knows his real name.

- Trembling Bells in Brazil May is looking like a good month for fans of Scottish music in Brazil. Camera Obscura will be there on the 27th and 28th and Glasgow’s Trembling Bells have just announced a couple of gigs in Ribeirão Preto and Sao Paolo. Details as always on the Scotland on Tour page. - Franz Ferdinand in Australia and South America 2010 Franz Ferdinand are in Portugal tomorrow and they will continue their world domination with gigs throughout Australia and South America next year. - Primal Scream and Brazil Come Together The Vaselines were on Vic’s Radio Scotland show recently and Eugene Kelly said Sao Paolo was “like the Gorbals with a suntan”.
