Silver Columns – Live Footage and Interview from Homegame 2010
Homegame this year was a distinctly danceable affair for me. Not that I did dance (I wasn’t that drunk) but the bands I enjoyed the most were the ones like Findo Gask and Django Django who are most definitely very friendly to those of the dancing persuasion. I had to miss Silver fucking Columns though, […]

The Japanese War Effort – ‘I Will Leave You Now and Two Loudspeakers Will Take My Place’ Reviewed
I am going to feel like one of those parents trying to turn a two-year-old into a champion as I write this review, because this album is really good, but I fear I might spend most of the time nit-picking. Straight A’s? No A-stars? You have FAILED ME!

Toad Session: Eagleowl
A large part of me thinks there should be an Eagleowl Interviewers’ Support Group. They are some of the loveliest people you will ever meet, but getting them to talk is like trying to learn Kung-Fu in an afternoon.

King Post Kitsch – ‘King Post Kitsch’ EP Reviewed
Well well well, this is extremely good indeed. King Post Kitsch is an exiled Weegie currently residing in London, and was recommended to me by Lloyd from Peenko. I’ve been a little slow on that count, I suppose, because everyone and their blogger seems to have been chattering about this EP for a while now […]

Mitchell Museum – ‘We Lost 1st Prize’ Reviewed
Mitchell Museum have an album finished and simmering away (and sounding extremely good). By way of warming us up and also giving a home to some of the songs which became orphaned along the way, the band are giving away an EP, which you can download from their Bandcamp page.

Django Django – ‘Love’s Dart’ Reviewed

Broken Records Live at Song, By Toad, Hogmanay 2009
On New Year’s Eve 2009, instead of fighting the crowds in the centre of Edinburgh, we decided to take it a little bit easier and we thought that a house gig would be the perfect solution. Alongside Jon Rooney from Virgin of the Birds, Jamie and Rory from Broken Records also agreed to play.

eagleowl – ‘Sleep the Winter’ Reviewed
It’s hard to review this single, not because the basics aren’t pretty clear (it’s lovely, I like it a lot, go and buy it please) but because I am finding it very hard to figure out how to express exactly what I feel about this record. Actually, scratch that, I am finding it very hard […]
