Vic will be putting his feet up this morning after presenting 3 days of television coverage of T in the Park this weekend. But next weekend he’s off to the Slottsfjell Festival in Norway with Belle and Sebastian, Teenage Fanclub and Twin Atlantic. More on Twin Atlantic below with all the Scotland on Tour details.

Twin Atlantic at the Slottsfjell Festival in Norway

Following in the footsteps on Biffy Clyro, and proving that Scotland has a credible ‘Rock’ scene and doesn’t just churn out jangly indie-pop and technoid-beats, comes Glasgow 4-piece Twin Atlantic.

Last year they released their debut mini-LP for a new label Red Bull Music, and look set to take on the World. ‘Vivarium’ is a collection of 9 hard-hitting, direct, in-your-face anthems with strange arrangements, quirky hooks and clearly distinguishable, unashamed Scottish accents. They’ve done sessions for my Radio 1 and Radio Scotland shows, and are now picking up a sizeable fanbase across the country.

Having introduced them onstage on several occasions, I can definitely recommend them as a powerful, explosive live act with just the right balance between an untamed, out-of-control stage show and excellent, tight musicianship with choruses that will soon be setting radio alight over the world.

I also saw them play a sold-out show to 650 people and guests at Edinburgh’s Studio 24, where the entire audience knew every word of every song. Incredible! They really go for it live, and if you like your tunes heavy but melodic in equal measure, these guys could seriously appeal.

Also on tour this week The Cinematics, Paolo Nutini, Belle and Sebastian, Errors, The Proclaimers, Biffy Clyro, The Waterboys, Simple Minds, We Were Promised Jetpacks and Teenage Fanclub.
