- Video Highlights of Scottish Artists at SXSW Part 2 Last week Vic Galloway and Matthew Young joined me and 13 Scottish bands at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. - Scotland on Tour with Vic Galloway: Codeine Velvet Club With the chaos of SXSW over for another year, most of the Scottish bands are heading home now but the Codeine Velvet Club were on a 6am flight to Seattle yesterday to start a mini west coast tour with Metric. - Scotland on Tour with Vic Galloway: SXSW 2010 This week is almost certainly the biggest week of the year for Scottish international gigs. 14 Scottish bands are heading to the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas and Vic will be there too. Here is his preview together with a listing of more than 80 Scottish gigs around the world this week:
- Scottish Bands at SXSW 2010: The Law The Law will return to Austin for SXSW 2010 having been part of the Scottish contingent in 2008 and at the time of writing, the band have 8 gigs scheduled during the 4 day festival. Full details on these performances are below and will be updated if and when further gigs are added.
- Interview with The Law Hailing from Dundee, The Law will start a US tour next week which includes dates in New York, California and Texas. - Vic Galloway on This Week’s Scottish International Gigs The Pictish Trail (Johnny Lynch) is currently on tour in Europe with former Arab Strap Malcolm Middleton. Tonight the Pictish Trail are in Koln Germany and Vic highlights that gig along with their other shows in Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway as his pick of all the Scottish gigs abroad this week.
- Lloyd Cole playing USA, New Zealand, Australia, France and Homecoming Live Commotionless Lloyd Cole will be playing dates in California, New Zealand, Australia and France this autumn before heading to Glasgow to join King Creosote, The View, The Bluebells, Deacon Blue and more at the final Homecoming event of the year at the SECC.
