  • Best of 2010: ‘Away Game’ was Officially the Best Thing to Happen to Music, Ever I just don’t understand it.  I mean, I came back from the most amazing musical weekend I think I have ever enjoyed, and instead of being interested and happy for me, when I start telling people about it they get this weird look in their eyes which looks just a little like blind homicidal rage. • Best of 2010: You Have Been Watching… Restless Natives The term cult film is really overused. Some claim that Reservoir Dogs or The Usual Suspects are cult films when they are really just critically appreciated successful films with a cool cast and/or soundtrack. A cult is something that demands devotion, even blind faith, and, by its nature, is often a well kept secret. 1985s […] Alistair Braidwood

  • Best of 2010: Reflections on the World Cup The Dear Scotland contributors are going to take a bit of “winter break” over the festive period so it seems like an appropriate time to look back at some of the most popular articles of the year. First off, Billy’s thoughts on the summer of football. Billy Williamson

  • Scotland on Tour with Vic Galloway: Vic’s Best Gig of 2010 Biffy Clyro’s gig last night with Muse in Perth, Australia looks to have been the last of the hundreds of Scottish international gigs in 2010 so we asked Vic to tell us his gig of the year. He gave us two from the same band: Frightened Rabbit. Vic Galloway

  • The Scottish Blogger and Music Sites Award (The Scottish BAMS) 2010 Last year Lloyd / Peenko set up what he rather amusingly called the Scottish BAMS, a collection of people who write Blogs And Music websites which are kinda Scottishy – in the sense that they must either be based in Scotland, or written by Scots abroad, such as the Daily Growl or your Dear Scotland. • The Perfect Christmas Gift for Expats Christmas for expats can sometimes be a bit tough. That said, I know that this year wont be as bad because I can now watch live UK telly whenever I want with Expat Surfer. Pete Reid
