Dear Shuggie, Ah, Shuggie.  What a life, eh?  Who’d be a referee.  (Actually, I’ll get to that later.) “The Tannadice Coverup” is what they’re calling it in the papers, though I’m sure Neil Lennon would have it as “The Tannadice Conspiracy”.  I think “The Tannadice Cockup” would be more appropriate.

Once again the SPL are meeting to consider a brand new idea that by changing the number of teams in the league, it will dramatically increase the quality of Scottish football. About six months ago they had a similar meeting. Here is what Billy had to say about it then:

Over the years, football has evolved from 2-3-5, through the W-M formation and ‘wingless wonders’ into the 4-4-2 I know and love, with Christmas Trees, 4-5-1-into-4-3-3, and the current trendy 4-1-4-1 also coming into play.  But on Friday I witnessed something I honestly never thought I’d see: 4-6-0. It made me want to call 9-9-9.

Once again, Scottish football fans in the US will be unable to watch an important international match on any American TV channel. I’ve written to the SFA several times, without reply, offering to broadcast games here on Dear Scotland, but fortunately you can now watch the game for free with Expat Surfer.
