Interview with The Phantom Band
Glaswegian sextet The Phantom Band will join Vic Galloway in Rennes next weekend for the Trans Musicales Festival. Dear Scotland spoke with the band’s keyboard player Andy Wake this week who revealed the band’s healthy obsession with outdoor swimming as well as their plans for SXSW 2010.

The Yummy Fur Reuniting for US Tour
Glaswegian 90’s band The Yummy Fur have announced that they will be getting back together for a few shows in America next year. The band formerly included ‘Scotland’s Greatest Ever Drummer‘ Paul Thomson and Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand. Word has it that Paul will feature in the reunited line-up. Details below.

Scottish Bands Announced for SXSW 2010
South by Southwest (SXSW) has announced an initial line-up of 200 or so showcasing artists for the annual music festival in Austin, Texas next year. Who is Scotland’s Greatest Ever Bassist?
Paul McCartney once said, “None of us wanted to be the bass player. In our minds he was the fat guy who always played at the back”. This reminded me of being a kid in the playground and how everyone wants to be Ally McCoist or Henrik Larsson and nobody wants to play in goal.

Bis To Reform for 2010 Primavera Festival
Manda Rin has announced that she will be reuniting with Sci-fi Steven and John Disco for a one-off Bis show at the 2010 Primavera Festival in Barcelona.
