Vic had them in session last week on his Radio Scotland show ahead of their Hampden gig with U2 and today Vic highlights Glasvegas as the Scottish band to see this week. Glasvegas will be back in North America soon with the Kings of Leon before heading to LA to work on their 2nd record.

Glasvegas

Much has been written about these guys over the last couple of years… and what years they’ve been for the band!! From an unknown band from Dalmarnock in East Glasgow to globe-trotting rock stars, it’s been immense for them. Somehow they’re still nice, down-to-earth folks as well… maybe that’s the east end of Glasgow in them!

Having said that, I have heard James from the band is moving to Los Angeles – proper rock’n’roll eh? Maybe it’s to get closer to Las Vegas… Anyway, the campaign for their debut LP continues as they attempt to play to every living gig-goer on the planet and prove themselves to be the hardest-working band on it.

If you like Jesus & Mary Chain, 50’s Doo-wop, 60’s girl bands, guitar effects-pedals, Scottish accents and Phil Spector’s ‘Wall of Sound’… this is the band for you.
