  • Dear Scotland – The Mixtape: Volume 1 Like many expat Scots, I find myself talking about Scotland a lot. And aside from the standard conversations about golf, whisky or Braveheart the subject of Scottish music frequently arises. In the past, when band names alone were not enough to impress certain people, I would end up making them a mixtape or cd. Pete Reid

  • Scottish Bands at SXSW 2010: Broken Records Vic Galloway describes Broken Records as having “a sound that mixes up the emotive, propulsive energy of Arcade Fire, adds the worldy swing of Beirut and combines it with the epic, sincere songwriting of The Waterboys“. Shiner

  • Broken Records Live at Song, By Toad, Hogmanay 2009 On New Year’s Eve 2009, instead of fighting the crowds in the centre of Edinburgh, we decided to take it a little bit easier and we thought that a house gig would be the perfect solution. Alongside Jon Rooney from Virgin of the Birds, Jamie and Rory from Broken Records also agreed to play. Matthew Young
