Peenko’s Scots Way-Hay! – Inspector Tapehead
I’d always thought the old adage of ‘good things come to those who wait’ was actually a load of old bollocks, in fact I guess I still do. That being said I am chuffed to bits to have finally managed to get Inspector Tapehead to do a wee interview for me. I think it was […]

Sparrow & the Workshop – ‘Black to Red’ video
“Joanna Newsom backed by Black Sabbath.” Apparently Sparrow & the Workshop have some rather smart-arsed friends, because that’s how one of them described some of their recent material, according to the press release I received.

Broughty Ferry to Brazil
This past week saw Dundee FC file a financial plan to allow them to escape administration at the end of the season – saving the club from extinction. Good news for Dundee fans, though other Division One teams can justifiably complain that Dundee’s excessive spending has been wiped out at the expense of the club’s […]

Peenko’s Scots Way-Hay! – Dear Mountaineer
After all the fun and games of my ‘Ones To Watch’ posts, normal Scots Way-Hay will now be resumed with indie-folk four piece, Dear Mountaineer. Having recently played at the Chem 19 showcase gig in Glasgow a few weeks back, the band first came to my attention through Halina with whom I run Olive Grove […]

Indelible Ink: Ron Butlin’s ‘The Sound of My Voice’
Ron Butlin seems to be one of Scottish writing’s best kept secrets and I don’t quite know why. Scotland is lucky to have the writers we do, and Butlin can show his medals with the best of them. He is perhaps best known as a poet, he is Edinburgh’s Makar after all, but even in […]
