Indelible Ink : Alasdair Gray’s ‘Lanark’
How do I begin to sum up Alasdair Gray? Writer of fiction and non-fiction, painter, illustrator, dramatist, poet, cultural and political commentator, and even, as part of the ‘Ballad of the Books’ project, songwriter. Most people would be happy to have mastered one of these things. Alasdair Gray is not most people. And ‘Lanark’ is […]

Benni Hemm Hemm – ‘Retaliate’ Reviewed
Benni Hemm Hemm could be forgiven for thinking I’d taken against him, given he has lived in Edinburgh for something like two years now, has been playing and releasing pretty much as an Edinburgh artist, and plays exactly the kind of music I love and… I’ve written nothing about him at all. Whatever Happened to… The McLeish Report
Billy is away this week so we are republishing his brilliant analysis of Henry McLeish’s recent report into Scottish football. Peenko’s Scots Way-Hay! – iglue
It’s been a pretty tiring few weeks in the world of Peenko (i.e. me), so I think it’s somewhat appropriate that this weeks Scots Way-Hay post is a bit more chilled. Niall Masson, aka iglue, is a singer songwriter from the Isle of Lewis, who I first caught at this years goNorth showcase.
