  • Win tickets to see Belle & Sebastian and Teenage Fanclub in NYC Dear Scotland has been listing every Scottish gig outside the UK for a while now, but the show scheduled for September 30th in Brooklyn will likely be one of the biggest and best yet. Teenage Fanclub will join Belle & Sebastian at the Williamsburg Waterfront, and we have two tickets to give away. Pete Reid

  • Scotland on Tour with Vic Galloway: Isobel Campbell in Europe Isobel Campbell continues her European tour this week with shows scheduled in Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands. • King Post Kitsch – ‘Monomaniac’ Reviewed The only time I have met him, enigmatic, reclusive Scot Charlie from King Post Kitsch… no, wait sorry.  Actually Charlie did introduce himself at the Meursault album launch down at the Old Queen’s Head a couple of months ago, and enigmatic and reclusive he most certainly was not. • Peenko’s Scots Way-Hay! – The Son(s) There’s a certain amount of irony in me posting about a band called The Son(s) in the week that I had a beautiful baby daughter. But that’s enough about my private (or not so private) life, on to The Son(s), one of the greatest bands in Scotland that you’ve probably still to have heard of. Lloyd Meredith

  • Scotland on Tour with Vic Galloway: Hostage in Barcelona Just a handful of Scottish bands on tour this week, (by the way let us know if we are missing any), but Isobel Campbell starts her European tour and Vic has more on Hostage in Spain. Also the new Mogwai film will be screened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC on Friday. Vic Galloway

  • Bottle of Evil – ‘Bottle of Evil’ Reviewed This self-titled, self-released debut album has made such an immediate positive impact on everyone I’ve played it to that I’ve deliberately held back on writing this review for a bit, just to be sure I didn’t get too swayed by other people’s enthusiasm and could actually react for myself. • Peenko’s Scots Way-Hay! – A Band Called Quinn I’ve featured a lot of indie folk-pop bands recently, so I thought it was about time that I branched out a little. A Band Called Quinn are most certainly pop, but there’s no folk to be had here, this is electro-pop done at it’s finest. Lloyd Meredith

  • Kid Canaveral – ‘Shouting at Wildlife’ Reviewed The launch of this album was, entirely unsurprisingly, one of most enjoyable gigs I’ve been to in a long time.  I think Lloyd from Peenko was officially having The Most Fun He Has Ever Had, it was sweaty as fuck, and the whole experience was just fantastic.
