Brit nominee Calvin Harris has just finished a string of festival dates in Australia and on his way home he’ll be stopping off in Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore for a few more gigs. Radio 1’s Vic Galloway has more on Calvin along with the only listing of every Scottish gig around the world this week:

Calvin Harris in South East Asia

As well as most of the acts that I mention here, I supported Calvin right from the start as he launched his ever-so-slightly-tongue-in-cheek club anthems on the unsuspecting public.

Initially fusing elements of fellow-Scot Mylo with bits of Prince and LCD Soundsystem, his tunes became a staple of nights across the world with anthems such as ‘Acceptable in the 80s’ and ‘Girls’ — love them or hate them, they’re about the catchiest ditties around. As a result, his debut LP ‘I created disco’ was a massive success and the world wanted more.

Hitting back with ‘I’m not alone’ he not only silenced critics, but scored his second #1 single in the UK (the first being a collaboration with Dizzee Rascal — ‘Dance Wiv Me’) with a 90’s trance-infected sound. His latest album continued that success and world-domination approaches… oh, and he’s a nice fellow as well!
