Peenko’s Scots Way-Hay! – French Wives
I know I should probably start by giving a synopsis about the band, but that just isn’t my style. With the French Wives, it’s even more difficult as I find myself in a situation where I could be seen to be a bit ‘fan boy’ about them. At 31, this isn’t the best of looks.

Peenko’s Scots Way-Hay! – Fear The Fives
This is the 500th article on Dear Scotland and somewhat appropriately, Peenko brings us an interview with a new Glasgow band by the name of ‘Fear the Fives’. Massive thanks to Peenko, Billy, Vic, Matthew, Colin, Kenny, Alistair, Saba, Alec, Shiner and Swatpaz and everyone else who has contributed in the last year.

Peenko’s Scots Way-Hay! – The Kays Lavelle
Week fourteen and it’s time for Edinburgh six piece, The Kays Lavelle. Having initially known lead singer Euan as a fellow blogger, I was a wee bit apprehensive as to what I might make of his music. I needn’t have worried as the ‘Kays debut album, ‘Be Still This Gentle Morning’, is an absolute corker.

Peenko’s Scots Way-Hay! – Super Adventure Club
And now for something completely different. For those of a nervous disposition, this might be the time to look away, as you are about to enter the weird and wonderful world of the Super Adventure Club. Yes they’re on the same label as last weeks Scot Way-Hay’ers The Scottish Enlightenment, but the similarities end there.

Peenko’s Scots Way-Hay! – The Scottish Enlightenment
I first came across the Scottish Enlightenment when their name kept cropping up in the “top friends” Myspace page of a lot of the bands that I like, (yes, I prefer Myspace over Facebook, because the majority of folk from school that I have no inclination to speak to don’t loiter on there).

Peenko’s Scots Way-Hay! – RM Hubbert
Dave Grohl, the nicest man in rock? My arse. RM ‘Hubby’ Hubbert wins this title by a country mile. He also has the tunes to back this title up to. It’s not very often that I proclaim my love for instrumental music, never mind when it’s flamenco-based.

Peenko’s Scots Way-Hay! – Miss the Occupier
I guess a lot of folk read blogs to find something new and exciting and I must admit that before I started the Peenko website I tried to be a bit of hipster. Sadly, the thrill of the chase can be a lot more exciting than the end product. Being able to say you were […]

Peenko’s ScotsWay-Hay! – Over The Wall
When I first started blogging, I really didn’t know where I was going with it, there was no real plan other than to try and introduce some of my friends to good music that they might have missed. It’s not like I set out to promote Scottish music, it was just something that I found […]

Peenko’s Scots Way-Hay! – Miaoux Miaoux
Week 8 of Scots Way-Hay and it’s my pleasure to to introduce you to electro-post rock artist Miaoux Miaoux, aka Julian Corrie. I must admit that his 2007 debut album ‘Rainbow Bubbles‘ completely passed me by, thankfully his new Blooms EP didn’t. Having previously done remixes for Zoey Van Goey as well as playing in […]
