- 14 Scottish Artists Now Confirmed for SXSW 2013 Earlier this week, Creative Scotland revealed that they would be supporting five Scottish bands and three DJs to attend this year’s SXSW Music festival in Austin. We can also add The Waterboys’ Mike Scott, Frightened Rabbit and more to the list of Scottish acts who’ll be there. Full list below:
- Scotland on Tour with Vic Galloway: Sparrow and the Workshop in Ireland Vic is back from his jollies and will return to Radio Scotland tonight with Kid Canaveral live. Bands on tour this week include Hey Enemy, Teenage Fanclub and The Cinematics but Vic has more on Glasgow’s Sparrow and the Workshop who will join Biffy Clyro, The View, and Broken Records in Ireland for Arthur’s Day.
- Scotland on Tour with Vic Galloway : The View Dundee’s The View are currently in Australia and are scheduled to play in Brisbane tonight, Sydney tomorrow and Perth on Friday. Radio 1’s Vic Galloway tells us why this is his pick of the Scottish gigs abroad this week.

- The View Heading to Australia The View will be celebrating Hogmanay in Australia this year at the Falls Festival in Tasmania. The Dundonians have also announced dates in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth over the festive period after they headline the Homecoming Live concert in Glasgow at the end of this month. - Catch a Falling Star at the Barrowland Ballroom – Part 3 For those who enjoyed reminiscing about the Barrowland Ballroom in Parts One & Two, this is a more personal look at Alec’s favourite Barrowland gigs. It was going to be a top ten before he got lost in memories of laughs, tears, hugs and flying cups of pish and it became a magical top 50. Enjoy.
- Vic Galloway’s Cover Version Special This week on his BBC Radio Scotland show, Vic devoted the entire two hours to his favourite cover versions. This included exclusive session track covers from Scottish bands The View, My Latest Novel, the 1990s and Camera Obscura which might well cause Alec to reconsider his top 20 list.
