Later that usual, as a result of some unforeseen issues at Dear Scotland HQ, Vic presents his weekly round-up of Scottish international gigs with a closer look at Rachel Sermanni. I’m also conscious that I may be missing a few gigs so if you see any glaring omissions let me know.
Vic is back home and on Radio Scotland tonight he has the brilliant FOUND in session. Tune in at 8pm UK time to hear live versions from one of the albums of the year ‘factorycraft’. As always listings of all the week’s Scottish international gigs below and Vic has more on Belle and Sebastian:
Vic is off on his jollies this week but I’m sure that he would approve of “unsigned noise-mongers” Bronto Skylift as the international Scottish gig of the week this week. Vic will be be back next Monday and in the meantime you can follow his adventures in Maui here.

As they travel the road towards SXSW and Austin’s new music extravaganza, some Scottish bands are taking the initiative to book some shows before and after the event. This makes sense in a load of ways. They’re in the USA already, the travel costs have been paid and they might even help earn some cash [...]
This weeks listings include international dates from Fran Healy, KT Tunstall and Biffy Clyro, while Vic has more on, arguably, Scotland’s biggest band Mogwai who celebrate the release of their new album today with a gig in Dublin tonight. The album is out in the US tomorrow. Details, as always, below:
This weeks listings include international dates from The Phantom Band, Isobel Campbell and Lloyd Cole, while Vic has more on Edinburgh’s Broken Records who have a busy week with gigs in four countries. They will then start their first US tour on February 20th.
The 2011 Scottish international tour calendar finally gets going this week with Three Blind Wolves in the Netherlands and Primal Scream in New Zealand and Australia. And Vic has more on the Phantom Band who are in Ireland.
With no Scottish bands on tour outside the UK this week, Vic has instead given us some details on a few of the Scottish bands that will be visiting his BBC Radio Scotland show soon, including Aerials Up, Mogwai, Primal Scream and more.
