- Eddi Reader Gigs in Ireland and Japan Eddi Reader is in Dublin later this week with Luka Bloom and will play in Tokyo and Osaka next month. Eddi has also been a supporter of the campaign to keep the Johnnie Walker plant in Kilmarnock and recently talked about how the whisky might have saved her life during a prior trip to Japan.
- Franz Ferdinand back in North America, Japan and Europe Aside from perhaps Glasvegas, Franz Ferdinand may take the prize for the most international gigs this year. The band have already been through North America and Japan once in 2009 and they will return to the US next week supporting Green Day and playing festivals before returning to Japan and then Europe again.
- Mogwai in NY, DC and Japan Mogwai will be back in America in August for a couple of shows at the All Points West Festival in New York and then in Washington DC, before joining up with Teenage Fanclub and The Vaselines to play the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan. - The Ballad of John and Yokohama A few months ago Scotland lined up a friendly match in October against Japan – in Japan. Last week the venue was announced as Yokohama, and because Billy is in Japan right now, and because he loves you, he did some scouting this weekend.

- Teenage Fanclub – Gig in Japan Bellshill’s Teenage Fanclub are probably most known for their critically acclaimed albums Bandwagonesque, Songs from Northern Britain and Grand Prix. As with Manda Rin, Japan has remained especially faithful to The Fannies, and the band will return there again in August for the Summersonic festival in Tokyo and Osaka.
- Manda Rin Interview and Japanese Show As the frontwoman for Bis, Manda Rin was the inspirational leader of the Teen-C revolution. Together with Sci-Fi Steven and John Disco, Bis toured the world selling over 100,000 albums in Japan alone. Manda released her first solo album last year and yesterday spoke to Dear Scotland ahead of a return to Japan next week.
- Trashcan Sinatras in America and Japan The Trashcan Sinatras have announced US dates for July and August. The band will start rehearsals in early July and will play a warmup show in California on July 16 before heading to Japan for the Fuji Festival. Once they return from Japan, the band begins a full summer US tour.
