It is a bumper week for Scottish bands on tour internationally this week with 18 bands playing across the world. Highlights include Camera Obscura and A-Lix in South America, Codeine Velvet Club in Romania and the mighty Bis at the Primavera Festival. Vic has more on Bis alongside the full listings below:
Glasgow’s Nanobots will be taking their unique brand of Space Pop to Japan later this month for three shows in Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo. Earlier this week Dear Scotland spoke to Jimbot and Shonabot about their previous Japanese trips and after-parties with Ted McKenna, a Rezillo and 500 bikers:
Manda Rin has announced that she will be reuniting with Sci-fi Steven and John Disco for a one-off Bis show at the 2010 Primavera Festival in Barcelona. No word yet on whether Roland R5, the Bis drum machine who failed to make the Greatest Ever Drummer shortlist, will be making an appearance too. Details below:
As the frontwoman for Bis, Manda Rin was the inspirational leader of the Teen-C revolution. Together with Sci-Fi Steven and John Disco, Bis toured the world selling over 100,000 albums in Japan alone. Manda released her first solo album last year and yesterday spoke to Dear Scotland ahead of a return to Japan next week.
