Dear Scotland

I’ve featured a lot of indie folk-pop bands recently, so I thought it was about time that I branched out a little. A Band Called Quinn are most certainly pop, but there’s no folk to be had here, this is electro-pop done at it’s finest.

Tonight Vic is back on Radio Scotland and he will be joined by Isobel Campbell to talk about her new album and upcoming tour. Here, Vic has his weekly listing of Scottish bands on tour internationally and few words about the brilliant Django Django:

The launch of this album was, entirely unsurprisingly, one of most enjoyable gigs I’ve been to in a long time.  I think Lloyd from Peenko was officially having The Most Fun He Has Ever Had, it was sweaty as f**k, and the whole experience was just fantastic.

Something for everyone this week with a very eclectic list of Scots bands with gigs abroad over the next 7 days. Belle and Sebastian, Runrig, Paolo Nutini, Mungo’s Hi Fi and The Cinematics are all on tour but Vic has more on The Phantom Band who will hit the Electric Elephant Festival in Petrcane:

Hey Enemy are clearly on the path to success. They are my wife’s favourite Scottish band, they’ve been kidnapped my Detour Scotland and their arses have been photographed with Stuart Braithwaite.
