I’ve featured a lot of indie folk-pop bands recently, so I thought it was about time that I branched out a little. A Band Called Quinn are most certainly pop, but there’s no folk to be had here, this is electro-pop done at it’s finest.

The launch of this album was, entirely unsurprisingly, one of most enjoyable gigs I’ve been to in a long time.  I think Lloyd from Peenko was officially having The Most Fun He Has Ever Had, it was sweaty as f**k, and the whole experience was just fantastic.

Hey Enemy are clearly on the path to success. They are my wife’s favourite Scottish band, they’ve been kidnapped my Detour Scotland and their arses have been photographed with Stuart Braithwaite. It’s a funny wee world. I have been running the Peenko blog for almost two years and I honestly can’t quite believe how many cracking local bands I have ‘discovered’. The one thing that I hadn’t fully expected was to have my little sister ask me if I had heard of one of her best [...]
