Vic was in Austin with me this past weekend for the brilliant Fun Fun Fun Festival which is why this article is being published slightly later than usual. Anyway, Vic’s on his way back to sunny Scotland now but before he left he picked Teenage Fanclub in Germany as his international gig of the week.
Teenage Fanclub in Austria and Germany

Promoting their new album Shadows, Teenage Fanclub have been working extremely hard over the last few months, gigging harder than bands half their age.
They played a great session for me on BBC Radio Scotland around the time of the album’s release and I saw them live at the Edinburgh Picture House playing tracks old and new from their career that has inspired and entertained for over two decades.
The new songs fit in perfectly with the classics and it feels like the band are truly reenergized. Going to a Teenage Fanclub gig is like hearing a greatest hits compilation but much louder and with some cracking onstage banter. Check out their current European tour dates on the Scotland on Tour page and if you are in Germany or Austria this week, get along and say hello.
