Just a handful of Scottish bands on tour this week, (by the way let us know if we are missing any), but Isobel Campbell starts her European tour and Vic has more on Hostage in Spain. Also the new Mogwai film will be screened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC on Friday.

Hostage in Barcelona
by Vic Galloway

If you can’t dance to Hostage, you may as well cut them off… your legs, I mean! This Edinburgh based DJ and producer is going to be huge, if there’s any justice in the world. Enormous beats, booty-shaking basslines and incredible breakdowns ensure that his tunes confidently straddle the worlds of Electro, Techno and House while throwing in some Ska, Dubstep and old-skool Rave for good measure.

With titles such as ‘Mash up the Speaker’, ‘Blockhead’, ‘Sick’ and ‘The New Gun’ — you know you’re in for some serious ear-damage… in a good way! He’s starting to get more airplay (other than simply my shows of course!), the remix requests are coming in quick and fast and his star is very much in the ascendancy. Catch him while he’s hot, and dance til the break of dawn!
