  • Interview with Fur Hood and Spanish Tour Taking their name from a mutual appreciation of the parka coat, Glasgow’s Fur Hood will be leaving the jackets behind and heading out to southern Spain for a gig next month. Fur Hood spoke to us about the show and the last time they visited Spain when they had a bit of a scrap. Pete Reid

  • Peenko’s Scots Way-Hay! – The Scottish Enlightenment I first came across the Scottish Enlightenment when their name kept cropping up in the “top friends” Myspace page of a lot of the bands that I like, (yes, I prefer Myspace over Facebook, because the majority of folk from school that I have no inclination to speak to don’t loiter on there). • 1990s Rescheduled Gig in Brooklyn this Weekend Like Frightened Rabbit, the 1990s were forced to cancel dates in the US due to Volcanic ash last week. If it’s anything like the Yummy Fur gig earlier this year it will be packed: Shiner

  • Burnt Island – ‘Music and Maths’ Reviewed There’s something wonderfully uncomplicated about this gorgeous EP by Burnt Island. It’s not simplistic or basic or anything like that, it just has a confidently slow pace and an effortless manner – they just make it all seem so easy. Matthew Young
