Today Vic highlights one last gig of 2009, and it sounds like a cracker. We Were Promised Jetpacks and Frightened Rabbit will join Vic Galloway on stage at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party on Thursday night. The music starts at 9pm. More from Vic including Frightened Rabbit’s session version of ‘Walking in the Air’ below.

Vic Galloway at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay with We Were Promised Jetpacks and Frightened Rabbit

Oh, I know I chose a gig I was involved with last week on the site, but hey, I don’t get to blow my own trumpet very often! Yes, this year I’m hosting, compering and DJ-ing at the Waverley stage as part of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party on Princes Street.

It’s going to be fantastic obviously, and not just because there will be around 15,000 or so out of a potential 75,000 party-goers screaming and generally going nuts right in front of the stage! The crowd may be the essential ingredient to any Scottish Hogmanay, but good music is massively important and we have a killer line-up to sing along to… Frightened Rabbit, We Were Promised Jetpacks and Stanley Odd will all be flying the flag for Scotland ahead of the The Enemy, as we move graciously and drunkenly into 2010!

It’s going to be amazing, so if you’re in the area come and sing along!
