Glaswegian DJ/Producer Hudson Mohawke is in Brisbane tonight and recently played to 12,500 people in Tokyo. However on Friday night he will join fellow Lucky Me member Rustie in Berlin for a special Warp20 show. Radio One’s Vic Galloway highlights that gig alongside the only listing of all Scottish artists touring internationally this week:

Hudson Mohawke v Rustie in Berlin

I’ve mentioned these future beat-makers on Dear Scotland before, but never as a head to head ‘sound-clash’ which this threatens to be!

Hudson has now released his debut LP on Warp Records and it looks like Rustie is hot on his heels. ‘Butter’ was a slick, uber-produced but off-kilter collection of soul, hip-hop and glitchy electrnoica that has seen DJ’s and taste-makers around the world going nuts for Hudson and Scotland’s LuckyMe collective.

Rustie is the younger and nastier-sounding of the 2, with wobbly crunk rhythms underpinning pulsing, electro basslines and oscillators that make your brain go fuzzy! The future of dance-music seems to be in Scotland… nice!
