This week on his BBC Radio Scotland show, Vic devoted the entire two hours to his favourite cover versions. This included exclusive session track covers from Scottish bands The View, My Latest Novel, the 1990s and Camera Obscura which might well cause Alec to reconsider his top 20 list.
As Vic said, “Everyone loves a cover, when it’s done sort of in a different way, it’s faithful but they add their own personality.”
For the past year or show, Vic has asked his session bands to play a cover and some of the best performances can be heard in this show. Other highlights include Broken Records covering the Velvet Underground, Mitchell Museum covering The Ting Tings, and Paper Planes with their version of Iggy Pop’s Nightclubbing.
