This week Radio Scotland’s Vic Galloway highlights Edinburgh’s We Were Promised Jetpacks in Germany and Belgium as his Scottish gigs of the week. After their European shows, the Jetpacks will head to North America for a mini Scottish invasion with the Twilight Sad and Frightened Rabbit.

We Were Promised Jetpacks

As already documented, these Edinburgh boys are good pals with Frightened Rabbit and The Twilight Sad. As a trio, they’re all signed to the excellent Fatcat label and are now seen as a world-beating triumvirate of guitar-thrashing, indie-rockin’ goodness!

Jetpacks are the youngest of the bunch and have just released ‘These Four Walls’, their debut long-player, to acclaim. They’re building up a rabid hoard of fans and followers who sing along to every word at their gigs.

T in the Park was an obvious triumph as the band took to the stage in front of a rammed ‘T Break’ tent and an audience who made more noise than they did! The songs are emotive, heart-felt and drive the message home, while as a live band they crank it out with real attack! Well worth seeing.
