Vic highlights mysterious electro-pop artist Dollskabeat at the Disco 3000 Festival in Croatia as his pick of the Scottish acts playing abroad this week. More about Dollskabeat and the only listing of every Scottish international show this week below.
Of Bellarussian extract but from Edinburgh, Dollskabeat is another hotly tipped singer, songwriter and producer from Scotland. She’s tall, slim, elusive with angular hair and a sense of ‘pop-star’ about her. ..
I know her real name, but couldn’t possibly disclose this information as it may take away from her master-plan of conquering the world of pop with her seductive, electro-pop! Optimo, Glasgow’s coolest club, have put out her debut 10″ vinyl single to acclaim, but record deals must be on the table for an LP by now. ..
Her music is dark, sultry and slinky with elements of 80′s synth pop, dubstep, house and even modern R’n'B with stunning production and memorable melodies. If you’re in Croatia, get along to see her and witness a rising star! www.myspace.com/dollskabeat
Also on tour this week: Franz Ferdinand, Calvin Harris, Fish, Hostage, AC/DC, Glasvegas, Paolo Nutini, Hudson Mohawke, Eddi Reader, Mungo’s Hi Fi, We Were Promised Jetpacks and Nazareth. See all dates below.
