  1. Out of compassion for the Scots, who were so concerned about the terminally ill convicted Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset Ali Mohmet al-Megrahi that they released him from prison, I am canceling next year’s fishing trip to Scotland.
    I wouldn’t want them to see me as I get closer to my final days.
    I hope other Americans can show the same sympathy for the Scottish idea of compassion and maybe even quit drinking Scotch.
